The Commons helps communities run stronger conversations with QR-based joining, recording and transcription, summaries, voting, and participation insights. Use this page for product support, session issues, privacy questions, and account deletion.

Common help topics

Joining a session

  • Allow camera access if you want to scan a session QR code.
  • If scanning is unavailable, ask the organizer for a new QR code or alternate join path.
  • If you are signed in with the wrong account, sign out and scan or enter the room code again.

Recording and transcription

  • Microphone access is used only when a session is actively recording.
  • Some organizations configure audio to be deleted after processing; others may retain it based on their session settings.
  • If a transcript appears incomplete, confirm that recording permissions were granted and that the session remained active long enough to finish processing.

Session outputs

  • Transcripts, summaries, themes, rankings, and voting results may only be visible to authorized users, depending on organization permissions.
  • If you believe your access is incorrect, contact the organizer or use the support form.

Account deletion

If you created an account in The Commons iOS app, open your account menu and choose Delete Account. You can also start the request from this page.

Deleting an account is intended to remove the account and associated personal data unless The Commons is legally required to keep certain records or the hosting organization remains entitled to retain specific session outputs under applicable terms.

Organization-level membership and saved demographic profile data are removed from future organizational pools. Already-published reports and historical session records may keep de-identified attendance, voting, and demographic aggregates so the public record stays accurate without identifying the deleted account.

If you no longer have access to the app or cannot complete deletion from inside it, use the contact form and include the email address on the account so The Commons can verify and process the request safely.
